Challenge Yourself and Overcome Fear

Challenge Yourself!  Overcome Fear!

These statements are easy to make but not easy to put into action.

In the coming new year I am going to challenge myself in many new ways.  In the past year I have faced some challenges and have overcome most of them.  One was moving from Italy to Fairfax, Virginia.  I didn’t want to move and left Naples, Italy kicking AND screaming.  OK I didn’t ACTUALLY kick and scream but it’s what I felt it inside.  I am sure I voiced it a few times, but then I put on a smile, put on my big girl panties and got on that plane back to America.  I left behind my VERY dear friends, an awesome internship with Renee Williams, and the travel oh the travel.  But every day I put one foot in front of the other.

Then, I officially launched my photography business.  I always say things happen for a reason but we don’t always know why.  EVEN BAD THINGS happen for a reason…sometimes it’s so something REALLY GREAT can happen.  But we have to be patient it doesn’t always happen right away, but it happens.

So this past year I have gone out of my box and grown in many ways.  One of these ways have been learning to delegate (a very hard thing for me).  For those of you who know me stop giggling   Another challenge has been managing my time with my new business and four kids with very demanding schedules.  Finally, overcoming the FEAR of failure and starting my business.  One foot in front of the other.

Most of all I am so lucky to have a husband who has been very supportive of these new (and some old) challenges in my life.  Thank you honey for being there for me though it all!

Here is how I hope to continue to learn in grow in the coming new year…

I am going to enter the Rock the Shot monthly challenges.  Mainly to give myself a way to go out of the box and do something that’s for me, just for me.  Trying new techniques, coming up with new ideas.   I think doing something NEW is hard for many of us.  What ways do you go out of your box?

I would love to hear any constructive criticisms on these monthly photo challenges.  Don’t be too harsh…I am a softie maybe I will work on that in 2014.  <giggle>
